How to Plan a Vacation on a budget when you cant afford one

Have you had issues with being able to afford a vacation and being able to go somewhere nice? Not to Fear! We have some solutions that can help you to be able and treat yourself to a nice vacation. There are a few different options that we will share that can help you make it happen.

  1. Marriott Bonvoy & Credit Card– Marriott Bonvoy is a great way to be able to get vacations next to nothing. How is this possible? Marriott has a rewards program that is great for getting points that Equal Free Night stays for you and your family. You can accumulate points a few ways. One is to obviously stay at their hotels and they give you points. The other is to get a Marriott Bonvoy Card and you can get points an all of your purchases. It does cost $95/ year to have the card, but Marriott gives you a free nights stay each year that you have the card. (It doesnt take affect until you have been a card holder for a year.) With also being a new Marriott card holder, you will be eligible to have 75,000 bonus points if you are able to spend $3000 in the first 3 months of having the card. I would say that this can equate to 3-4 nights, but depends on where exactly you would like to stay. If you have a few friends that you would like to sign up, you both will be eligible for an additional 20,000 points for each person that you refer. (Which can equate to a free night stay for each of you). Me and my wife both have cards and put all of our expenses on the cards. We have been able to enjoy traveling through this program as we rack up free nights simply by spending money on daily purchases. If you need anyone to refer you, Ill be more than happy to do it. 🙂
  2. Airbnb– Airbnb is another affordable option for hotel stays. This allows you to stay at other peoples homes that have them listed as available at a discounted price compared to what you may spend at a hotel. This is an excellent opportunity to get a nice place for you and your family to stay. Airbnb is already a well known option and something that many people are already using today.
  3. HostelBookers– If you are young and adventurous, a hostel may be the right option for you. Hostels allow you to share a room with bunk beds with other people. You can get rooms as cheap as $10-20 a night depending on where you stay. Hostel Bookers is a search engine that can help you find potential places to stay. They do have some more expensive options that do allow you to have a private room. If you are like me, you need a private room whenever you are staying somewhere.
